Two Children Injured At Shaw Ferry

Less than twenty-four hours after I published the latest TDOT report on the intersection of Shaw Ferry and Hwy. 11, two small children were injured in a two vehicle crash at the intersection. TDOT's report states that the death and injury rate at the intersection is just not high enough to justify spending the money needed to fix the intersection.

Thankfully, the two children, one in each car ages 4 and 6, were not seriously injured but were receiving medical treatment for their injuries.

It's absolutely unimaginable that state officials need more death and injury to realize the dangers that we all already know exist. I wouldn't be surprised if the state doesn't give us full credit for this crash since it wasn't grown ups that got hurt. This is absurd.

Please contact your state officials to express your opinion.
