Pilot proposes to develop a “Travel Center” with the primary focus of providing to the motoring public a clean, safe and convenient one-stop location for both food and fuel. This facility will include a quick service restaurant with a drive-thru window (Subway), Convenience Store (General merchandise, electronics, apparel, deli, grocery, etc.) automobile fueling, commercial truck fueling, and limited professional commercial driver amenities to include truck scale, showers and limited parking. This facility will be carefully designed to provide both automobile and commercial trucks with a dedicated/separated entrance/exit area that will allow for safe and convenient access. This facility will be designed to cater to the interstate automobile motorist, RV traveler, buses, local residents and the commercial truck driver, with an estimated two-thirds of its total daily customers coming from the automobile motoring public. Many of the customers may live within a few miles of the facility: commuters buying a tank of gas and a cup of coffee, families picking up a few necessities on the way home, or students grabbing a midnight snack.
