Lenoir City Beer Board Hands Out Big $$$ Fines

The Lenoir City Beer Board met Thursday night to address the matter of the under age beer sting conducted by the LCPD back in February. The monetary fines ranged from $500 to $1000 for the violators.

The four restaurants cited in the sting were each fined $500.00. The State Alcohol Beverage Commission who regulates liquor sales, also fined each restaurants $1,500.00.

Bobby Joe Fritts, owner of West Hills Mkt. was fined $750.00. The board reasoned that as the owner, Mr. Fritts, held a greater responsibility for the violation than if it had just been an employee who committed the violation.

The stiffest fine handed down was for Ken Jo Mkt. #18 Mcgee Blvd. who had no one at the hearing to represent the business.

LCPD plans more beer alcohol stings in the future. A second violation would require a mandatory suspension of a businesses beer permit.
