2 Men Charged In 2005 Slaying

LENOIR CITY — Police said today they have charged two men with first-degree murder in the stabbing death of a man last year.

Officers found Steven Glenn Dean, 31, dead in his burned-out trailer, 107 E. 9th Ave., on Dec. 7. He'd been stabbed repeatedly and his car had been stolen, Lenoir City Police Department Detective Jonathan Sartin said.

Police spent the next 10 months investigating, with help from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and the state Bomb and Arson Squad. That investigation led to murder charges against David Lynn Trentham, 30, of Rockwood and Ralph Dewayne Moore, 31, of Harriman.

Rockwood police arrested Trentham at his home Thursday, Sartin said. Authorities have sent the arrest warrant for Moore, now an inmate at the Brushy Mountain State Penitentiary in Petros, to prison officials to be served there.

Police wouldn't discuss a motive in the case.
