Traffic stop finds meth; more arrests reported

While conducting a routine highway patrol on May 7, Cpl. Jonathan Sartin observed a grey Honda exit off the interstate and get into the left lane in front of him.

Sartin immediately noticed the driver wasn’t wearing a seatbelt, and as he began to pay closer attention he noticed the driver moving around in the driver seat as it turned onto Town Creek Road West.

Following the car further, the vehicle veered into the center lane multiple times before finally pulling off into a driveway on Dynasty Drive. When Sartin made a traffic stop, he identified the driver as Timofey Kolomiychenko.

Sartin explained his reasoning for the traffic stop — noting that the driver still not wearing a seatbelt was a cause for concern. When prompted to display his license, Kolomiychenko said he didn’t have one.

When asked if his license was suspended, he said it had been suspended out of California.

Sartin was eventually able to place a California identification on the driver, confirming his license HAD been suspended. Kolomiychenko was then asked if he had ever been arrested before, to which he said yes.

The driver said he had been arrested in Bradley County on paraphernalia charges.

Sartin then asked Kolomiychenko if anything illegal was in the vehicle he was driving — to which he also said yes.

Kolomiychenko said there was meth in the vehicle.

Kolomiychenko was also asked if he had anything illegal on his person; in response, he gave up the pipe in his back pocket.

At this time, Kolomiychenko was detained by law enforcement.

Sartin then located the paraphernalia in a Wal-Mart bag located in Kolomiychenko’s vehicle, which was later tested and determined to be about 4 grams of methamphetamine.

Dakota Leighann Hackler, 28, homeless, was charged with domestic assault and held on $1500 bond.

Gary Alan Helton, 42, Lenoir City, was charged with capias-general sessions, harassment (verbal threat), two counts of violation of order of protection/ restraining order and held on $6000 bond.

William Joseph Meunier, 38, Lenoir City, was charged with possession of a handgun while under the influence and released on $1500 bond.

Marty Allen Mills, 42, homeless, was charged with public intoxication and released without bond.

Starlyn Marie Pacella, 22, Port Orchard, WA, was charged with domestic assault and released on $2000 bond.

Lisa Lannell Roberts Alred, 49, Lenoir City, was charged with public intoxication and released on $1000 bond.
