Report: Unwanted visitor in possession of fentanyl, meth

Family member reportedly ‘stoned’ on living room couch

STAFF REPORTS

Around 1:40 p.m. on Saturday, May 26, Deputy William McCall responded to a call originating from a house on Price Road signaling that they had an unwanted visitor.

When the deputy came to the home, he was immediately greeted by the complainant who stated that a family member, Christopher Neely, was “stoned” on the couch in the living room.

Deputies were then allowed to enter the residence, where Deputy McCall saw Mr. Neely on a recliner in the house’s living room.

The suspect was visibly drowsy, slurring words, unable to complete full sentences and exhibiting wide eyes with narrow pupils, according to the incident report. When asked by McCall if Neely had taken any substances prior to his arrival, Neely simply responded “no.”

It was then when the family member spoke up and stated that they had seen drugs on the couch where Neely was previously sleeping. A family member handed the deputy a small plastic baggie full of gray powdery substance and McCall asked Neely what the substance was.

After a few attempts to get the words out of his mouth, the suspect said that the substance was heroin. This then prompted a search of Mr. Neely, and a red cut straw with gray residue was found in his right pocket.

McCall then called EMS to the scene to evaluate and clear Neely. The suspect was then placed under arrest on possession charges.

As McCall prepared to leave the residence, the family member again stopped him and handed the deputy two more plastic bags — one with a similar gray powdery substance and another with a green substance — both later tested and proven to contain fentanyl and methamphetamine.

When Neely arrived at the station, McCall asked whether the substance surrendered by the family member belonged to him. His response was again short, stating “it doesn’t belong to them.”

Christopher Neely was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, simple possession/casual exchange and released on $2,000 bond.
