| The Town of Greenback and the Loudon County Regional
Planning Commission have filed a lawsuit against M&M Stone
Farms/Tri-County Crushed Stone for the preparation of a quarry on the
Hutton Farm in Greenback.
Rodney Murphy, who has been developing the quarry was served a cease and desist notice at the end of March by Loudon County zoning enforcement. Apparently, Murphy ignored the cease and desist and has continued his quarry development. Last Wednesday, the lawsuit was filed in Loudon County Chancery Court. The suit is asking the court for a permanent injection on developing a quarry on the property. Apparently, the only way to make out-of-town developers obey the law is to go to court. |
