for Phillip Fulmer Golf Classic
The tournament benefits the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Tennessee Valley KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - The 26th Annual Phillip Fulmer Golf Classic is quickly approaching. The tournament benefits the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Tennessee Valley. “You go back into the classrooms and see the joy that’s created and obviously it’s a safe place also for our young people to come,” Fulmer told WVLT Sports Director Rick Russo.
Three
former Tennessee football players will be guests at the
tournament; Andy Kelly, Carl Pickens and Fred White.
“Andy Kelly was a quarterback from 1988-1991 who led the team to SEC Championships in 1989 and 1990. He played 15 seasons in the Arena Football League where he set several AFL career records and was inducted into the Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame in 2025. Carl Pickens was a legendary wide receiver from 1989-1991 at UT where he was selected as All-SEC and All-American. He had a successful career with the Cincinnati Bengals from 1992-1999 where he was named NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year and earned multiple Pro Bowl selections. Fred White played defensive back at UT from 1995-1999 and won the BCS National Championship in 1998. He played safety on the NFL San Diego Chargers team.” Phillip Fulmer Golf ClassicThere will also be an online auction that opens Monday, April 28. Auction items include a 2025 Lexus Champions for Charity National Championship at Pebble Beach for two people, a Vol Network Tennessee Football Experience for two people, a Tailgate Tennessee Touchdown Package at Circle Park, a Harrah’s Cherokee Casino Resort golf package and a Disney World VIP Package. The auction ends Friday, May 2. All proceeds go to the 25 clubs across East Tennessee which serve more than 7,600 kids.
