Write-In Candidates

For the first time anyone can remember, Loudon County will have two write-in candidates. The August ballot will include a qualified write-in for County mayor and for County Court Clerk.

Tellico Village resident, John Cook, has qualified as a write-in candidate to challenge incumbent county mayor, Buddy Bradshaw.

Amy Langley, will be a qualified write-in candidate challenging Riley Wampler for the County Court Clerk position. Ms. Langley was originally a candidate for the office in the May primary election before she was removed from the ballot by the state election commission due to her residency being outside the county.

To be qualified as a write-in candidate, the person must register with the county election commission. The write in candidates name will not appear on the ballot. It will be up to the voters to write-in the candidates name if they want to vote for the candidate. It will be up to the write-in candidate to educate the voters on the process to select a write-in candidate.
