Windle to return to Lenoir City

Former Lenoir City High School assistant boys' basketball coach Kevin Windle has returned to coach at the school he left only a season ago.

Windle, who's in his early 30s, replaces Shane Wells.

Wells was hired in late April by Christian Academy of Knoxville. Windle was Wells' assistant at Lenoir City for the 2007-08 season and then was hired by Seymour this past season after Randy Moore left Halls.

This will be Windle's third head-coaching stint. He was coach at Oneida for three seasons. At Lenoir City, he inherits one of the area's top players: rising senior Tyler Hood. The 6-foot-6 Hood averaged more than 23 points, nine rebounds and four blocks per game this past season en route to All-State and All-PrepXtra honors.
