Oh, give me a home where the Buffalo roam

Where the Deer and the Antelope play;

Where seldom is heard a discouraging word,

And the sky is not cloudy all day.

You can't hear the words of that old song without thoughts of the old west, maybe riding along on your horse and in the distance a herd of buffalo are grazing peacefully. A sight one might think is gone forever. Not so fast.

Right here in Loudon County one can actually see the buffalo roam. Just off old Hwy 95 on Brook Road near Greenback there is actually a small herd of buffalo. Not sure who they belong to but it is unique to see buffalo in real life.

This once again proves just how diverse Loudon County is. So, short on money this year? Need a vacation? Just head to Greenback, stop and look at the buffalo and it'll seem like you're out west.
