We have your number

Albert Einstein once said that a number by itself has no significance. Here at Children’s Hospital, we disagree. In a world of PINs, passwords and secret identification numbers, there is one number that you can proudly share with everyone—it’s the four-digit number on a new Children’s Hospital specialty license plate.

You should know this is more than just a colorful plate bolted to your bumper. The significance of this number can be measured by miracles. Miracles happen every day at Children’s Hospital and by choosing to display the specialty plate, you are telling your friends, family and the thousands of motorists you pass that you had a hand in making a miracle happen. We encourage you to choose a number of meaning to you—a child’s birthday, anniversary or any four-digit number you prefer, if it is available.

Here are some more numbers of significance:

75……………..number of years Children’s Hospital has cared for East Tennessee’s children.

270,000……….number of annual patient visits to Children’s Hospital.

420,000……….daily dollar amount it takes to keep Children’s Hospital operational.

We hope you will consider helping the thousands of children served by Children’s Hospital. In order for the plate to go into production, 1,000 plates must be reserved. We are nearly halfway to that goal, and we invite you to be part of the groundswell of East Tennesseans showing their support to this project. We encourage you to act now; we have less than a month to meet the 1,000-plate minimum. You can reserve your plate by completing the enclosed reservation card or by calling (865) 541-8741. Thank you in advance for you continued support of East Tennessee Children’s Hospital, a place where no gift is insignificant.

Deadline approaching to order Children's Hospital license plate

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Help kids with cancer and drive support for East Tennessee Children's Hospital with a brand new, specialty license plate. Pre-sale for the plate is under way and 1,000 plates must be sold before the state will begin production.

Children's Hospital is still about 400 sales away from reaching the goal before the July 1 deadline. The money raised from the specialty plate will benefit kids treated in the hematology/oncology clinic at the hospital.

The colorful license plate celebrates Children's Hospital's 75 years of service in East Tennessee. They cost $35 each and payment is required when pre-ordering. Drivers can choose numbers 0001-1000 to appear on their plate. Once the advance purchase is made, buyers will be notified that the reservation form has been received and will be contacted when the plate is ready for pickup at their local county clerk's office.

Children's Hospital employees chose the design of the new license plate last year, from several options designed and donated by the Tombras Group.

To order a plate, contact Marguerite Hogan in the Development department at (865) 541-8741, or stop by the hospital lobby information desk.
