GREENBACK, Tenn. (WATE) - A small earthquake in Loudon County was recorded early Friday. 

According to the United States Geological Survey map, a 2.3 magnitude earthquake was registered in Greenback, Tennessee near Tellico Village before 8 a.m. Friday. 

The small quake was recorded 5-6 kilometers west-northwest of Greenback. 

Another small earthquake was registered on the USGS map in the same area. A 2.2 magnitude earthquake was recorded just before 6:30 am. Friday.
