Veterans day Events

From Loudon County Schools:

 

In light of COVID-19 restrictions, our schools will be observing Veteran’s Day in new and creative ways.  The following are activities that will take place on Wednesday, November 11, 2020: 

 

Eaton Elementary will have virtual assemblies for the students at 8:15 and 10:15. They will also recognize veterans that drive thru in parade style at 9:30 am. 

 

North Middle will release a 20 minute recorded program at 10:30 with a guest speaker and video snips from former and current Stars.  They will also recognize veterans in a drive thru parade at 9:30 in conjunction with Eaton. 

 

Highland Park will livestream their program from the Highland Park Facebook page at 9:00 am.  They will also save it and post it to their website if you would like to view it later. 

 

Greenback will invite veterans to drive by the school from 10:00-11:00 am and the band will be playing while some students join in thanking them for their service.  Additionally, on November 6th they will have four branches of the service set-up outside in booths for students to participate in interactive learning. 

 

Steekee Elementary will be doing a running tribute all week on their social media and webpage.  They will also recognize veterans in a drive thru parade at 8:20 am. 

 

Loudon Elementary will post a video at 11:00 am. They will also recognize veterans in a drive thru parade at 8:45 am. 

Fort Loudoun Middle will create a video thanking veterans along with creating posters and banners. A guest speaker will record a message for students to be shown in class.  They will also recognize veterans in a drive thru parade at 9:15 am.

Loudon High will live stream or post a program to their website.  They will also recognize veterans in a drive thru parade including culinary arts treats at 9:20 am. 

Philadelphia will be zooming with a deployed soldier from classrooms.  They will also recognize veterans in a drive thru parade at 9:45 am.
