Two Loudon County kids on a mission to keep deputies cool

LOUDON (WATE) - Two kids in Loudon County are on a mission to keep local sheriff's deputies cool in this extreme heat.

Aiden Chatfield, 9, and his brother, Ethan Chatfield, 7, decided they wanted to raise $3,000 to buy body armor air conditioning.

Their mom was going to buy the device for a friend in law enforcement when the boys got the idea to buy one for every Loudon County deputy.

The device hooks to the air conditioning vent in the officer's patrol car. The hose has a spout officers can stick between their bullet-proof vests and their t-shirts.

Aiden and Ethan are holding a lemonade and drink sale Saturday among other things to raise the money. You can also make a donation the "Keep Our Officers Cool" account at United Community Bank at 11134 Kingston Pike.
