What a difference a few months makes.

In just nine months, hundreds of new houses and apartments have been constructed in Lenoir City. This is just a small portion of the thousands of new houses and apartments Lenoir City mayor, Tony Aikens and his council members have already approved. More than 2,600 are already in the planning or construction phases.

Has the mayor/council taken any steps to plan for the massive over development? None.

This development is 163 Town Homes on 19 acres. That's about 8.5 units per acre. Units priced in the low $200,000.00

Universal At Town Creek is a apartment complex, owner Watauga Partners II, LLC out of North Carolina. The multi-story apartments will have 265 units on 26 acres. That's more than 10 units per acre. This is one of the projects that the Lenoir City mayor/council gave a PILOT (payment in lieu of taxes) major property tax break to. This project is about a quarter mile from the high school and even less from Lenoir City Middle School.

All together, it looks like about 75 lots on 17 acres. That's about 4.3 units per acre. Just about a quarter mile from the high school.
