Threats lead to aggravated assault charge

A Lenoir City man was arrested June 29 on aggravated assault charges after threatening a woman.

Lenoir City Police Officer Michael Arden responded to a disturbance after a fellow officer, Investigator Jonathan Yates, spotted a visibly emotionally distraught woman in the street with a man standing nearby. Arden talked with the woman while a third officer went to talk to the man.

The woman told Arden that she and David Edward White-Letsinger Jr., 27, had gotten into an argument when she refused to have sex with him. During the argument, the woman tried to go outside and White-Letsinger threatened to shoot her.

The woman said White-Letsinger never displayed the weapon, but she knows he carries a firearm with him at all times.

The woman left the house despite the threats. She said White-Letsinger followed her while claiming he would shoot her in the front yard if she did not go back inside. Yates saw the woman when she reached the road and Arden was dispatched.

White-Letsinger and the woman have a history of domestic incidents, and she told Arden she was in fear of being shot or beaten. She then described White-Letsinger’s firearm and Yates located the weapon loaded with 10 bullets in a vehicle parked in the driveway.

White-Letsinger denied the woman’s version of events, claiming he never threatened her. He said the argument stemmed from his intent to go play golf against her wishes.

A child was reportedly asleep in the home during the dispute.

White-Letsinger was charged with aggravated assault and held on $5,000 bond.

Man charged after camper sold twice

An Englewood man was arrested for theft of property after using different names to sell the same camper to two individuals.

A woman filed a report with the Loudon County Sheriff’s Office on April 13 about the theft of her camper. She said she purchased the camper April 5 for $6,500 from a man using the Facebook screen name of Josiah Delgado. When she went back a few days later to pick up the camper at the Lenoir City RV and Storage lot where it was parked, the camper was missing.

Records showed the camper had been towed from the lot April 7 at the request of a second person who had purchased the camper for $4,000 that same day from a man using the name Josh Sanchez.

Josh Sanchez and Josiah Delgado were later found to be Carlos Alejandro Delgado, 27. A LCSO officer encountered Delgado on June 27 and arrested him.

Delgado was charged with two counts of theft of property and released on $15,000 bond.
