They're Back

While some knew, most probably didn't, but for the last year or so, my oldest son Austin and his wife Brittany have been in the process of an international adoption. That process is now complete and I have a new granddaughter. Abigail "Abby" Rose Shaver.

The adoption process has been a long, arduous journey culminating with Austin, Brittany, and even my grandson Caleb spending the last three weeks in the country of Armenia finalizing all the details and making all the necessary arrangements to bring their little girl home.

Well, at long last, they're all back home safe and sound.

Our new addition, Abby, had been placed in an orphanage in Armenia almost from birth. She is now almost one year old. Abby was born with cleft lip and palate, but as you can see, is still a knockout.

We're all very excited to have Abby in our family. My only problem is that we've never had little girls in our family. I'm not sure I know what to do with little girls, but I bet I'll figure it out. She's a doll.
