LENOIR CITY (WATE) - Two men have been charged following last week's incident on Interstate 75 in Loudon County where a state trooper was forced to open fire.

The driver, Nessie Brotherton, 40, is charged with DUI, aggravated assault, resisting arrest, evading arrest and reckless endangerment.

Passenger Ralph McNabb is also accused of evading arrest. The two were arraigned Monday in Loudon County court.

According to THP, Trooper Eric Miller stopped a car Friday morning on I-75 near mile marker 68 on suspicion of DUI. Then, the suspect drove off, dragging Miller along the interstate. Miller then opened fire.

A third person who bailed out of the car and called 911, Daulton Brotherton, has not been charged.
