Below is a statement from Loudon County Chamber Of Commerce president, Rodney Grugin,

After a three-and-a-half-year process, the Loudon County Chamber of Commerce completed the sale of its Lenoir City office to Palmetto Lenoir City-Highway 321 North, LLC, on October 3, 2022.  The decision to divest the property was made after many months of study and discussion which involved parties from all programs of the Chamber.  The property housed offices for The Chamber which included Visit Loudon County and was also utilized as a visitor center.

The decision to sell the property was made based on several factors, with the reduction in foot traffic to the visitor center being the deciding issue.  The cost associated with maintaining the facility became unjustifiable based on the downturn of the daily visitor count.  This reduction in visits was due mostly to the availability to gather the most up to date information by use of smart phones.

All assets and programs have been consolidated in the Chamber office located at 410 Wharf Street in Loudon and the mission of The Chamber will continue as before.  Long range planning has already begun for what the future holds for the organization, and we will be seeking input from our membership and stakeholders as we move forward.

The Palmetto Group has not announced their plans for the property.

Rodney Grugin
