RIP Big Pap

After years long battle with blindness, deafness, Parkinson's Disease and Alzheimers, Sarah's dad, C W Holland, or Big Pap as we all called him, went on to be with the Lord. Big Pap passed away Friday evening. He peacefully drew his last breath with his daughters by his side. We loved him and we'll miss him but he is in such a better place now, in God's arms.

The family would like to thank all of those who have been so supportive during this time.

Cordie Willice (C.W.) Holland,Jr. - age 87 of Lenoir City, TN passed away on December 7, 2012.

C.W. was a member of First Baptist Church in Lenoir City where he has served as a deacon, and children's Sunday School teacher for many years.

He retired from ORNL after 36 years of service. A familiar sight to many of us was C.W. in his wide brimmed hat, sitting on his tractor as he enjoyed farming along Martel Road.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Cordie Willice Holland, Sr. And Sadie Kerr Holland; siblings Christine Hill and Doris Grantham.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Elizabeth Hardin Holland; children Richard Holland and wife, Phyllis, Sarah Shaver and husband, Van all of Lenoir City, TN and Lee Anne Spires and husband, Preston of El Dorado, AR; grandchildren Austin Shaver and wife Brittany of Hendersonville, TN, Evan Shaver of Knoxville, TN and Amaris Hawkins and husband Curtis of Moline, KS, step grandson George McDougall; great grandchildren Caleb and Abby Shaver; siblings Sue Ella Gowen, Elizabeth Grisham (Bill), Mildred Buffalo (Bill), Harley Holland (Geneva) and Dan Holland (Mary Nell); sister in law Margie Sartin (Jackie) and Beverly Hardin and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends from 5 - 7 p.m. on Sunday, December 9, 2012 at Click Funeral Home in Lenoir City. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. Family and friends will gather at 11 a.m. on Monday at the Lakeview Cemetery for graveside services and interment.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, Lenoir City, TN for the Building Fund.
