Positive Growth???
Really?

Last week it was Teamwork, this week's digital billboard asks Lenoir city voters to vote for "Positive Growth". The billboard suggests voters should vote for incumbent councilmen running for re-election, James Brandon, Jim Shields and Buddy Hines to have "positive growth" in Lenoir City. (We still don't know who's paying for the billboard) What exactly does positive growth mean and what exactly have these incumbent councilmen voted for?

In the last eighteen months the mayor/council have approved and/or rezoned property for more than 5,000 new residential properties. Yet, have made no plans whatsoever, for the impact all this residential development will have, not only on the city, but the entire county. There hasn't been a single dissenting vote or and objection raised by any council person, not one. Do they not understand or do they just not care what they're doing to the city? Or maybe they are just blindly following mayor Aikens orders. Doesn't really matter, the outcome for everyone is the same.

I'm sorry, but if this is what they consider "Positive Growth", I would hate to know what they think is not good.

Below is just a partial list of some of the disastrous decisions made by the mayor/council. The council's decisions on this gross over development will forever destroy what Lenoir City has and will be.

As long as things stay the same, things will stay the same.
