Play Ball

Well, I might be a little early on the call but I did want to give an update on what's been happening at the Ruritan Park. The new folks have really been working.

They are fixing up the girls softball field and they are really making changes on what we called the Machine Pitch I field.

They've turned the field completely around the way it use to be so it can be large enough to be regulation size for middle school play. Besides being used as a league recreational field, the new field will also be used as the home field for the North Middle School baseball team. It's going to be a nice field when they get done. The girls softball field will also be used by the North Middle School softball team.

The park will continue to provide a little league program for boys and girls ages 4-15. It might be a little different than in the past but I'm sure everyone will still have a great time.

Even though for the first time in twenty-four years I'm not really involved with the day to day operations of the park nor am I involved with the current improvements being made, I am never the less excited to see the park continuing to move forward.

When the Eaton Crossroads Ruritan Club was established back in 1963, it's main objective was to support Eaton School. Now that the park will be the home fields for North Middle baseball and softball programs, the club, through the park, will again be supporting the school.

You can visit the park's web site at the link below to learn more about the upcoming 2014 little league ball season.

Let's get ready to play ball.
