Philadelphia man charged with domestic assault

After being sent to the 8000 block of Sunnyside Road for a physical altercation, Loudon County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Kenny Palmer talked with David Lee Anderson, 29, Philadelphia, who said he had been in an argument with a woman who recently moved out of his house.

Anderson claimed the woman hit him with a marble countertop, went to the bedroom and started cutting clothes and throwing them out the window in a burn barrel.

When Anderson’s mother arrived at the house, the woman left, according to the report.

Palmer later spoke to the woman at the Fort Loudoun Medical Center emergency room. She told the deputy that during the argument with Anderson, he hit her in the face and then tried to choke her.

She said Anderson “then began hitting her in the back of the head and then kneed her in the top of the head.”
Anderson was charged with aggravated domestic assault and violation of probation for driving on a suspended license and held on $8,000 bond.

Massachusetts teen faces drug, fake ID charges

A routine speeding stop along Interstate 75 led to the arrest of a Massachusetts woman who was taken to Loudon County Jail for possession of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and fake identification.

Patrolling the area of mile marker 73 along Interstate 75, Tennessee Highway Patrol Trooper Robert Woody stopped a Mazda sport utility vehicle that was detected on radar as going 72 mph, which was more than the posted speed limit.

While approaching the passenger side of the vehicle, Woody noticed a “faint odor” of marijuana coming from the vehicle, he said in his report.
After asking for the license and registration of the driver, Yasmeen Najeebi, 18, East Longmeadow, Mass., Woody told the occupants of the SUV that he planned to use a K-9 and asked if the vehicle contained any illegal items.

“... To which the driver stated she was not sure, that she thought she may have some marijuana,” Woody wrote in his report. “I let her exit the vehicle and retrieve the small amount of marijuana.”

During his search, Woody located alcohol, a marijuana grinder and two Rhode Island identification cards, both of which were issued to Najeebi and showed her date of birth.

“The identification appeared to be authentic Rhode Island identifications which would scan into my computer but came back as not on file,” Woody wrote. “The suspect had the identification with the intent to pass it or otherwise utter it.”

Najeebi was placed under arrest and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, simple possession/casual exchange and criminal simulation and released on $4,500 bond.
