With Monday being the first day to pick up qualifying petitions for the August election, some candidates wasted no time picking their petitions for the Loudon County school board race. The districts up this election are the 1st, 3rd, 5th and 7th.

In the 1st district, incumbents Kenny Ridings and Scott Newman picked up petitions to run for re-election. Bennie Houser picked up to challenge Kenny Ridings for Seat (A). In the 5th district, incumbent Brian Brown has picked up to run for re-election for Seat (A). Also in the 5th, new comer Tammy Bright has picked up to seek the Seat (B) position where incumbent Gary Ubben has decided not to seek re-election.

Any candidate wishing to run for one of the offices on the August election have until April 2nd to qualify.
