Petition Update 11/27

Incumbent, 2nd district commissioner, Rosemary Quillen has now picked a petition to seek re-election.

Sherri Colvard has picked up a petition to challenge incumbent Trustee, Chip Miller. This will be Ms. Colvard's second run for the office. In 2010, Colvard ran for the Trustee position. She was one of 6 candidates vying for the office. While Colvard did carry the Tellico Village district, she finished 4th in the six person race.

Ms. Colvard was also nominated for the job when incumbent, George Miller, resigned last year but failed to gain the majority of commissioner's vote needed to win the job.

While a number of candidates have picked up qualifying petitions, nothing counts till the petitions are returned to the election commission with the required, minimum 25 qualified signatures.

I'll keep you updated as we go.
