Parent Assaults School Official

News Herald Report

Loudon County Sheriff's Office Deputy Jamie Pistole, who also serves as a school resource officer, wrote in his report that he talked with a local school administrator, who said that she had gotten into a physical altercation with a parent at the school.

The parent was later identified as Candace Renee Mills.  "Ms. Mills was upset over her child having detention at the school and was very upset with (the school official).  During the heated discussion, both parties were walking out of the door and that was when Ms. Mills grabbed the upper arm of (the official) and pulled her back into the building which caused (the official) to not be able to get away from Ms. Mills.

"Ms. Mills continued to scream at (the official) and was basically nose to nose and pointing her finger at" the victim, Pistole continued, adding that Mills was later banned from the school.

Mills, 39, Loudon, was charged with assault and released without bond.
