Officers raid Lenoir City drug house

Four people were arrested last week in connection with a drug selling operation in the 1000 block of William Ferry Road in Lenoir City, where police seized a stash of methamphetamine, marijuana and other items.

Serving a search warrant at the home, personnel with the Ninth Judicial District Drug Task Force and Loudon County Sheriff’s Office found about 36 grams of meth, digital scales, a loaded firearm, a bag of marijuana and a stolen vehicle, according to the arrest report.

The residence was being occupied by Orlando Kartize Witherow, 34, Knoxville, Bradley Lucas Brooks, 33, Lenoir City, Lauren Carpenter Drost, 32, Lenoir City, and Ciara Shantee Winckler, 26, Loudon, according to law enforcement.

“Orlando Witherow has been a target of a narcotics investigation and has been distributing crystal methamphetamine from this residence and residing at it for the last two weeks,” Brendan DeBoer, task force agent, wrote in the report. “Agents were waiting for Witherow to leave the residence, due to officer safety concerns, in order to execute the search warrant and he was followed and stopped by law enforcement.”

DeBoer said law enforcement officers have been conducting “controlled purchases” from Witherow as part of the investigation. Brooks and Drost allowed Witherow to sell drugs from the home and were involved in the “conspiracy to distribute these dangerous drugs,” DeBoer wrote.

Witherow was charged with manufacture/sell/possession of a controlled substance, simple possession/casual exchange and possession of drug paraphernalia and held on $81,000 bond.

Brooks was charged with maintaining a dwelling and possession of methamphetamine and held on $60,000 bond.

Drost was charged with maintaining a dwelling and manufacture/sell/possession of a controlled substance and held on $30,000 bond.

Winckler was charged with trespassing and released on $1,000 bond.

Lopez was charged and held on $300,000 bond.

Police nab man on multiple drug counts

A Lenoir City man was taken to Loudon County Jail last week after police responded to call of a suspicious person standing in the road and screaming about drugs.

Locating the suspect, identified as William Anthoney Hout, 33, Lenoir City, on Kerr Street, Loudon County Sheriff's Office Sgt. Michael Watkins saw Hout drop a small bag and turn around, according to the arrest report.

Hout had "pinpointed pupils and appeared to be under the influence of drugs," Watkins wrote in the report.

A check through dispatch revealed that Hout had two outstanding warrants out of Bradley County for failure to appear and failure to report for jail time, according to the report. Watkins located numerous pills inside the baggy that Hout had dropped, and the man denied that the bag belonged to him.

Hout "admitted he was holding it for someone, but was unable to give a name and no one else was in the area," Watkins wrote.

Inside the bag, police located 9 1/2 oxycodone pills, three identified as Opana and seven Lyrica pills, according to the report.

Hout was charged with manufacture/sell/delivery/resale of a Schedule V substance and four counts of manufacture/sell/delivery/resale of a Schedule II substance and held on $45,000 bond.
