November Update 8/18

The local city elections are shaping up to be exciting. If all those who have picked up petitions actually file, there will be competitive races in all three cities. Loudon may be the hottest of the races to pick a new mayor from the three or four who have picked up or filed petitions and 9 people who have picked up petitions to run for the four council seats.

Lenoir City council race isn't quit as crowded as Loudon but 6 have picked up petitions for the three seats. No competitors have picked up petitions to challenge the two incumbent school board members in LC.

Candidates have till Thursday, noon to file a qualifying petition to be on the ballot.
