November Petitions

I let one slip by. Monday was the first day to issue petitions for the November election. Besides the presidential and state elections, there will be several local elections on that ballot.

Local elections of interest will be in Lenoir City, Greenback and Philadelphia.

In Lenoir City, the Mayor's position currently held by Tony Aikens, the Treasurer/Recorder currently held by Jim Wilburn and three council seats will be on the ballot. The seats held by Eddie Simpson and Jennifer Wampler are up this year. All the incumbents will be running for re-election. The seat held by Bobby Johnson Sr. will be on the ballot bur he will not be seeking re-election. Former councilman, Mike Henline, who lost his seat two years ago has already qualified to run, as has Aikens, Wilburn and Simpson.

There will also be three of the Lenoir City school board seats on the November ballot. Rick L Chadwick, Mitch Ledbetter, Glenn Mc Nish terms are up. Chadwick and McNish have already picked up their petitions to seek re-election.

The Greenback mayor and all four council seats will be on the ballot as will the Philadelphia mayor and four council positions.
