Not Picking Sides

It has come to my attention that I'm being accused of taking sides in the local city elections. This is not correct. I've made the same offer to every candidate, that if they had information they wanted to get out to the public, I'd be glad to post their info. Some candidates have taken advantage of that, some have not.

I think what some are really referring to is my reporting on the voting records of many of the incumbents. If reporting on voting records feels like I'm taking sides, that the incumbents issue. In any election, voting records are absolutely important for voters to know. How a candidate votes tells you all you need to know about a candidate and how, if re-elected, would likely continue to vote the same. In the case of Lenoir City incumbent candidates, that could only mean more mass over development and higher taxes.

I say good luck to all the candidates. The voters will ultimately decide who wins the elections.

I just report the facts and as the old saying goes, don't shoot the messenger.
