No Repeal Yet
| In the first Lenoir City council meeting of the new
session, no one brought up the idea of repeal of the Rain Tax. Newly
re-elected councilman, Buddy Hines, promised voters, in a robocall, just
before the November election that he would review the Rain Tax to see if
it was good for Lenoir City schools and churches. Hines never mentioned
it at the meeting.
Newly elected councilman, James Brandon ran his campaign on repealing the Rain Tax. Brandon didn't mention it. Bobby Johnson Sr. opposed the Rain Tax when it was passed in 2017. Bobby Johnson Sr. didn't mention it. The Rain Tax was the largest scam ever perpetrated of the good citizens of Lenoir City. The time is now. The Rain Tax must be repealed. |
