No On Jail
| After about an hour of public comment in opposition and another hour
of a sales pitch from District Attorney Russell Johnson and Sheriff Tim
Guider for the new jail, the proposed new 31 million dollar jail failed
to even get a motion from any commissioner. That effectively puts an end
to that plan. However most everyone agreed that something needed to be done to alleviate over crowding at the current jail and improve officer safety. I suspect the the discussion will continue at the next workshop. |
