Mrs. Hines Passes
 

Mrs. Hines is the wife of Lenoir City councilman, Buddy Hines.
Jacque Rose Babb Hines, age 88 born September 19, 1933, the oldest daughter of Jack and Frances Babb, passed away Friday, June 17, 2022. Jacque was a member of First Baptist Church and a lifelong resident of Lenoir City. She attended Nichols School and was a graduate of Lenoir City High School Class of 1951. Jacque met the love of her life, Douglas “Buddy” Hines in the 8th grade. She and Buddy were married on September 4, 1953 and were blessed with 69 years of marriage.

Jacque was a stay at home mom raising two amazing children, Jay and Rosemary. She was a hands on mom, PTO organizer, sports mom, neighborhood mom, and the wife of a city councilman. Jacque always had a smile on her face and was committed to God and her family. She always made sure her family was loved and encouraged them to achieve their highest potential. Jacque was beautiful, stylish and always happy. She could have chosen and achieved any profession in this world but she chose Mom.

Jacque loved and supported her husband, Buddy in his many political endeavors. She loved and adored her beautiful grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Jacque will be sorely missed but forever remembered as a Christian who was active in women’s ministry, played the piano and taught Sunday School. She was also a Red Cross volunteer, school clinic volunteer, community leader and a great cook. Jacque loved life and fought to the end.

Preceded in death by her parents, Jack Babb and Frances Worthy Babb; brother, Dr. Charles Worthy Babb; father-in-law, Carl Hines; mother-in-law, Margie Miller; sister-in-law, Ann Green; aunts, Maude Worthy, Ruby Worthy, Imogene McCarroll, Pearl Fine, Bobbye Simmons, and Rachael Nelson; uncles, John Worthy, Ralph Worthy, Claude “Skippy” Babb, and Ralph Babb.

She leaves behind her beloved and devoted husband, Lenoir City Councilman, Douglas “Buddy” Hines; son, Jay Hines and wife, Sharon; daughter, Rosemary Hines Quillen; grandchildren, Katie Rose Floyd (Dustin), Kipper Quillen, and Macy Hines; her precious great-grandchildren, Jay Ryder Hines and Ethan Howard Floyd; loving sister, JoAnn Babb Smith (AJ); aunt, Edyth Ann Worthy, and sister-in-law, Helen Babb.

The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 21st at Click Funeral Home in Lenoir City. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. with Rev. Eddie Click officiating. Family and friends will gather at the funeral home by 10:30 Wednesday morning and proceed to Lakeview Cemetery for graveside services at 11 a.m. Click Funeral Home, 109 Walnut Street, Lenoir City is in charge of arrangements.
