A 17-year-old Sweetwater girl who failed to show up at school Monday and was reported missing by her mother has been found safe in Loudon, Sweetwater Police Chief Eddie Byrum and SPD Public Information Officer Kenny Wilkins said. Wilkins and Byrum found the girl at a residence Tuesday on Corinth Road. But the 32-year-old man she is believed to have been with, Chucky Lee Hawkins, has been charged by SPD with contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Wilkins and Byrum said the case is under investigation by Loudon authorities and Hawkins could face additional and far more serious charges by investigators there. Byrum and Wilkins chased down the girl as she ran away from the Loudon home but Hawkins has not been arrested yet.
