A Maryville man who drowned in Tellico Lake in Lenoir City Friday night has been identified as 67-year-old Kenneth Henry Owens.
Owens fell from a houseboat near Tellico Dam Friday night and
drowned before he could swim to the shore, the Tennessee
Wildlife Resources Agency said in a news release.

Owens fell near the port bow of the houseboat and, according to
a witness, he began swimming toward the shore, but went under

about 40 yards off the shoreline at around 9:25 p.m.
