Man chokes woman to get drugs

A Loudon man is facing assault charges after law enforcement officers were sent April 13 to Corinth Church Road for an argument.
Officers found Charles Leslie Stinnett, 47, swinging a cane at a man in the backyard of the residence. After the man took Stinnett to the ground, Stinnett pulled out a steak knife and made a threat, Loudon County Sheriff’s Office Deputy TJ Scarbrough wrote in his report.

Officers detained Stinnett at gunpoint.

“Before the altercation took place between (the man) and Charles, Charles had head-butted his mother ... and suffocated his mother until she passed out (and) then stole approximately 25 Xanax,” Scarbrough wrote in the report.

Stinnett’s mother had two large knots on her forehead.
