Man arrested for pills after call of carjacker
 
A Lenoir City man is being held at Loudon County Jail after deputies found the man in possession of narcotics at Melton Hill Dam recreation area.

Dispatched to the area in reference to an alleged armed carjacker, Loudon County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Lance Anderson wrote in his report that he talked with a man matching descriptions of an alleged armed person trying to force his way into vehicles passing by. The man, later identified as Elijah Don Morgan, 37, denied the allegations but was allegedly found in possession of narcotics.

“Mr. Morgan advised me he had been talking with people near the entrance to the dam but did not try to get into the vehicle,” Anderson said, adding that Morgan had a prescription bottle with no label in his pocket.
 
“Inside the bottle was 9 1/2 square tablets believed to be Buprenorphine. Buprenorphine is classified as a Schedule III drug. The offender stated he had a prescription for it but could not prove it,” Anderson said. “The offender was also chewing on a black plastic straw approximately three inches in length. The offender stated he found it on the road.”
 
Morgan was charged with Schedule III drug violations and possession of legend drugs and held on $15,000 bond.
 
LCUB door damaged  after bill dispute
 
Lenoir City Police Det. Kevin Condee wrote in an earlier report that Bryan Trevor Stokes, 25, of Lenoir City, allegedly damaged a glass entry door in October 2014 by kicking it open after becoming angry about an account at the Lenoir City Utilities Board customer service office building on Depot Street.
 
“The deliberate action by Stokes caused significant damage to the door frame, door glass and the automated handicap door access mechanism,” Condee said. “... The total amount of damage caused to the door unit was estimated at $1,300 to $1,600.”
Stokes was charged with felony vandalism and violation of probation and released on $4,000 bond.

  • Clarence Donald Arwood, 40, Philadelphia, was charged with driving on a revoked/suspended license and an Anderson County warrant-domestic assault and released on $1,000 bond.
     
  • Matthew Thomas Driggers, 29, Harriman, was charged with failure to appear on traffic violation and released without bond.
     
  • Bernard Thomas Harris, 34, Philadelphia, was charged with contempt of court and released on $1,500 bond.
     
  • John Steven Jaynes, 55, Philadelphia, was charged with driving on a revoked license and held without bond.
     
  • Brian Nathaniel Saylor, 32, Rockwood, was charged with violation of probation on driving under the influence and held without bond.
     
  • Kenneth Ashley Sutton, 23, Greenback, was charged with simple possession/casual exchange and released on $1,000 bond. Stopping a vehicle for failing to observe a stop sign at Highway 95 and Morganton Road and for having expired registration, LCSO Deputy Cody Fritts wrote in his report that the driver, Sutton, had 14 grams of marijuana in his pocket.
     
  • Joseph Nathaniel West, 22, Loudon, was charged with failure to appear on worthless checks and released on $2,000 bond.
     
  • Taylor Bryant Williams, 24, Lenoir City, was charged with harassment (verbal threat) and released without bond.
March 27
  • Gary Dunn Bailey, 45, Lenoir City, was charged with theft under $500 and released without bond. LCPD Lt. David Flynn wrote in his report that Bailey was observed at a Lenoir City retail store concealing merchandise and leaving the store without paying for the fishing equipment, which totaled more than $100.
     
  • Samuel Stuart Bevelhimer, 24, Lenoir City, was charged with violation of probation and released without bond.
     
  • Sara Jane Harmon, 18, Lenoir City, was charged with theft under $500 and released without bond. LCPD Officer Christian Dragon wrote in his report that Harmon was observed dumping hair and nail vitamins in her purse and leaving its container on the shelf at a Lenoir City retail store.
     
  • Gilbert James White, 55, Lenoir City, was charged with driving under the influence and released on $2,000 bond. Responding to a call of a wreck without injury on Turman Drive, LCSO Deputy JC Schultz wrote in his report that the driver, White, allegedly had a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage, was unsteady on his feet and “stated that ‘he had ... too much to drink’,” Schultz said, adding that White performed poorly on field sobriety tasks.
March 28
  • Nicholas Jeremiah Adkins, 27, Knoxville, was charged with criminal trespassing, driving under the influence, vandalism and violation of implied consent and held on $12,000 bond. Dispatched to Pine Top Street in reference to a possible vehicle theft, LCSO Deputy Charlie Huskin wrote in his report that Adkins, who was inside the complainant’s vehicle, was allegedly unsteady on his feet, had slurred speech and a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage. “Mr. Adkins was so unsteady on his feet he had to be helped to my patrol unit,” Huskin said. “... After being placed into my patrol unit he became verbally abusive and began kicking the window of my patrol unit.”
     
  • Timothy Eugene Hembree, 56, Lenoir City, was charged with driving on a revoked license and released without bond.
     
  • Bryan Lynn Hinds, 51, Sweetwater, was charged with driving on a suspended license and assisting other agency and held on $2,000 bond. LCSO Deputy Cody Fritts wrote in an arrest warrant that Hinds, who was stopped for not wearing his seat belt, had a suspended license and an active warrant out of Roane County for theft over $1,000.
     
  • Shane Yarhan Matlock, 33, Lenoir City, was charged with violation of probation for theft and held without bond.
     
  • Alma Christine Stokley, 39, Lenoir City, was charged with violation of probation and released on $2,500 bond.
     
  • Ronald Jack Taylor, 42, Lenoir City, was charged with two counts of contempt of court and violation of probation-theft over $1,000 and held on $2,003 bond. LCPD Lt. David Flynn wrote in his report that Taylor had two child support warrants out of Loudon County and another warrant out of McMinn County for felony violation of probation.
March 29
  • Vanesa Jade Harrison, 55, homeless, was charged with failure to appear and held without bond.
     
  • Heather Elizabeth Weaver, 43, Walland, was charged with driving under the influence and held on $2,500 bond. Observing a vehicle back into a parked vehicle, Loudon Police Officer Marty Ward wrote in his report that the driver, Weaver, had a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage and performed poorly on field sobriety tasks. “... She then told me she’d had three liquor drinks with tequila,” Ward said.
     
  • Hurley Lewis Wells, 55, Sweetwater, was charged with domestic assault and held without bond.
     
  • Joshua Paul Wright, 35, Lenoir City, was charged with violation of probation on theft under $500 and held on $3,000 bond.
Fight leaves man with broken bones
 
A Lenoir City man is facing a charge for criminal trespassing after entering a residence he had previously been banned from and later fighting with the homeowner, leaving the man with broken facial bones and a lacerated lip.

Loudon County Sheriff’s Office Inv. Sgt. Charlie Cosner wrote in his report that Dylan Curtis Ferguson, 21, had been banned from a Harrison Road residence but was found Tuesday in one of the home’s bedrooms.

After the homeowner banned Ferguson and a female from the home, an argument ensued, Cosner said.
 
“As the two were leaving, (the homeowner) and (the female) continued to argue and (the man) admittedly slapped (the female) in the face,” Cosner said. “Mr.   Ferguson witnessed the assault, stepped between (the two) and a physical altercation began between (the homeowner) and Mr. Ferguson in which injuries to (the homeowner’s) face occurred including a lacerated lip and broken facial bones.”
 
Cosner further said that the homeowner chased Ferguson out of the home with a handgun.
 
Ferguson was charged with criminal trespassing and released on $1,000 bond.
 
Man intoxicated in court
 
A Knoxville man who appeared Wednesday in Loudon County General Sessions Court will be facing additional charges after showing up at the courtroom intoxicated.
 
LCSO Deputy Vance Wright wrote in his report that while on duty at court, Christian Peyton Bennett, 19, stepped up to the podium before Judge Rex Dale and had slurred speech, bloodshot eyes “and began speaking excessively to the judge, at times interrupting either Judge Dale or court-appointed counsel in mid-sentence.”
 
Wright said Bennett was warned more than three times to be silent but he refused and was ordered to be given a drug screen, which tested positive for several substances including marijuana, methadone and oxycodone.
 
“Prior to administration of the drug screen and continuing throughout the process, Mr. Bennett became belligerent toward officers, ETHRA officers and his counsel,” Wright said. “Mr. Bennett presented a danger to himself and others if left at large and I ... placed Mr. Bennett into custody for public intoxication.”
 
Bennett was charged with public intoxication and held without bond.

  • Christy Annette Smallwood, 38, Tellico Plains, was charged with driving on a revoked/suspended license, driving under the influence, cite-in-violation of implied consent, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of legend drugs and held on $8,000 bond.
     
  • Jason Boyd Williams, 39, Lenoir City, was charged with driving on a revoked/suspended license and released on $1,000 bond. Stopping a vehicle without a rear brake light, LCSO Deputy Billy Lewis wrote in his report that the driver, Williams, had a revoked license for failure to file.
March 24
  • Neil Donovan Grayes, 30, Loudon, was charged with initiation of manufacture methamphetamine, promotion of the manufacture of methamphetamine, simple possession/casual exchange and possession of drug paraphernalia and held on $21,000 bond. Responding to a call of a mother and grandmother finding that a man had narcotics and drug paraphernalia in his possession, LCSO Inv. Shane Ezell wrote in his report that Grayes had seven baggies containing a white powder substance and a green bag containing a piece of tubing. During a search, items used to manufacture methamphetamine, one gram of crystal methamphetamine and other paraphernalia were found in the man’s bedroom at his grandmother’s residence.  “Two black bags containing a bottle of acid, coffee filters, funnel, dust mask, three lithium batteries, a roll of aluminum foil and a small bottle of aluminum foil balls and a bottle with tubing attached (used to ‘gas’ off methamphetamine) were found inside a crawl space in Mr. Grayes’ bedroom,” Ezell said. “... During a mirandized interview, Neil Donovan Grayes advised the baggies of powder substance were ammonium nitrate used to manufacture methamphetamine.”
     
  • Syeisha Teresa Kilby, 33, Lenoir City, was charged with failure to appear-theft and held on $1,000 bond.
  • Richard Lynn Littleton, 39, Lenoir City, was charged with violation of probation and held without bond.
     
  • Angelia Marie Mayo, 31, Harriman, was charged with driving under the influence and violation of implied consent and released on $2,500 bond. LCSO Cpl. Rondel M. Branam wrote in his report that Mayo had slurred speech and watery eyes. “I asked her if she had taken any prescription medications and she stated that the last thing she had taken was subutex at approximately 10:30 a.m. this date,” Branam said, adding that Mayo performed poorly on field sobriety tasks.
     
  • Anthony Wyatt Roach, 21, Loudon, was charged with failure to appear-general sessions and released on $3,000 bond. Responding to a call of an unwanted guest, LCSO Cpl. Rondel M. Branam wrote in his report that the guest, Roach, had a failure to appear warrant out of Loudon County.
     
  • William James Shubert, 24, Lenoir City, was charged with violation of probation on introduction into penal institution and released on $2,000 bond.
     
  • Brian Cody Smith, 22, Harriman, was charged with driving under the influence-first offense and released without bond.
     
  • William Anthony Stephens, 38, Lenoir City, was charged with two counts of contempt of court and held on $1,500 bond.
     
  • Cindy Renea Wilson, 32, LaFollette, was charged with shoplifting and released on $2,000 bond.
March 25
  • Seth Jordan Curtis, 19, Lenoir City, was charged with two counts of simple possession/aggravated burglary/assault and released without bond.
     
  • Timothy Wayne Gatliff, 27, Middlesboro, Ky., was charged with criminal impersonation and held on $1,000 bond.
     
  • Timothy Allen Lankford, 37, Loudon, was charged with failure to appear-violation of probation on theft under $500 and held without bond.
     
  • Susan Renae Snead, 32, Kingston, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and Schedule II drug violations and held on $7,000 bond. Dispatched to an Erie Road residence in reference to an unwanted guest, LCSO Deputy Billy Lewis talked to the woman, Snead, who was “moving and twitching non stop,” and told the deputy that she had taken methamphetamine earlier in the day. During a search of Snead’s belongings, Lewis found four cut straws, hemostats, a pill crusher, plastic baggy with a green leafy residue, a marijuana pipe and crystal methamphetamine weighing less than one gram.
March 26
  • Margaret Deanna Johnson, 46, Lenoir City, was charged with criminal impersonation and Schedule II drug violations and released on $4,000 bond. Checking on a vehicle parked in a driveway with the passenger door open and nobody around it, LCSO Deputy Brandon Burley wrote in his report that he talked to a woman, later identified as Johnson, who lied about her identification. During a search, Johnson was found with 1.5 Hydrocodone pills “which are believed to be Acetaminophen/Oxycodone Hydrochloride, a Schedule II narcotic,”  Burley said. “Johnson stated she has a prescription for the oxycodone; however, did not have it with her as well as Johnson had the narcotics in her sock wrapped in cellophane.”
     
  • Katie Jane McKiddy, 35, Madisonville, was charged with violation of probation and failure to appear-general sessions and held on $17,000 bond.
     
  • Kenneth Ashley Sutton, 23, Greenback, was charged with simple possession/casual exchange and released on $1,000 bond.
     
  • Courtney Louisamae Whitson, 29, Albertville, Ala., was charged with a Sullivan County warrant-fraud and held without bond.
