Magnitude 2.0 quake rocks Loudon County
 
(WVLT) – A small earthquake rocked part of East Tennessee early Sunday morning.

The U.S. Geological Survey confirms the quake registered as 2.0 in magnitude. Its epicenter was recorded about six miles southeast of Philadelphia in a field along Loudon Road.

The quake occurred in a fault 9.9 miles below the surface.

Most of the region sits on the Eastern Tennessee Seismic Zone, which is considered one of the most active areas for earthquakes in the southeast.
