Loudon motorcyclist dies in Madisonville crash

MADISONVILLE - A motorcyclist was fatally injured Friday night when his vehicle collided with a pickup truck in Monroe County.

The victim was identified as John C. Adams, 38, of Loudon.

According to a Tennessee Highway Patrol report, a pickup truck driven by Roscoe L. Harrod, 53, of Madisonville was turning right from Ball Play Road onto Rocky Springs in Madisonville shortly before 7 p.m. as Adams attempted to pass the truck on the right “at an excessive speed.” The motorcycle struck the truck’s right front tire.

Harrod was not injured. No charges were filed.
