Loudon County traffic stop results in 2 arrests, large cache of pills

LENOIR CITY (WATE) - Two people were arrested this week on drug charges after a Tennessee Highway Patrol trooper discovered a large amount of prescription pulls during a routine traffic stop on Interstate 75 in Loudon County.

Brenda L. Hayworth, 49, of Murfreesboro, was charged with driving under the influence by drugs, simple possession of schedule II drugs, simple possession of schedule IV drugs, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Her passenger, Sunny C. Manis, 36, of Sevierville, was charged with allowing driving under the influence, possession of schedule II drugs for resale, possession of schedule IV drugs for resale, and possession of legend drugs for resale.

Trooper Colby Huff spotted the two on I-75 Wednesday night in a 2001 Dodge Stratus with a broken taillight. Neither were wearing a seatbelt.

While Trooper Huff was talking with them, he saw several indicators of possible illegal activity. The driver allowed him to search the vehicle, and he found the prescription drugs.

The drugs included 34 Oxycodone, 52 Hydrocodone, 37 Clonazepam, and 62 other prescription drugs.
