LOUDON COUNTY TEEN RECOGNIZED AND AWARDED FOR SAVING A LIFE

Loudon County Sheriff's Department

LENOIR CITY, TENNESSEE - Sheriff Tim Guider, surrounded by his entire command staff, recognized a local teen, crediting the young man for taking actions that led to a life being saved.

On February 13th, 2019, 13 year old Bryson Watkins received a message that a young man was in need of help. The 13 year old immediately ran to a nearby off-duty deputy’s house to seek aid. Together, with the information Bryson had, they were able to initiate a response by law enforcement. Actions that led to a life being saved according to Sheriff Tim Guider. “While we choose to keep the details to a minimum to respect the privacy of all involved, we think it’s more than appropriate to recognize the quick thinking and swift decision to act by Bryson, actions that we feel ultimately saved another young man’s life”. Guider awarded Bryson with the Sheriff’s Citizen Life Saving Award. An award that he says is rarely given and saved for those who go above and beyond as a Loudon County Citizen to save the life of another.

Bryson is the son of Michael Watkins and Kelli Watkins. Michael serves LCSO as a Lieutenant and currently oversees the agency’s Training and K9 Divisions.
