A
Loudon County Schools teaching assistant has been
fired after her arrest on a charge of theft,
officials said.
Christi Cullen, an assistant at Greenback School who
also coaches the middle school girls' basketball
team, was dismissed with cause Wednesday, Loudon
County Schools Superintendent Jason Vance said.
The Loudon County General Sessions Court Clerk's
Office confirmed Thursday that Cullen was arrested
for theft, although further details were not
immediately available.
The arrest follows allegations of abuse involving
staff members at two Loudon County Schools last
month.
The state Department of Children's Services is
investigating separate complaints against Lisa Hale,
a special-education teacher at Easton Elementary
School in Lenoir City; and William Michael Olds, a
teaching assistant at North Middle School.
