Loudon County man using money to
catch burglar
LENOIR
CITY (WATE) - A Loudon County man's home was broken into on Friday.
This is not the first time he has been a victim, so he has decided to try something new to catch the person responsible.
The burglary happened on Martel
Road, just outside Lenoir City.
"When I saw my door open, I
automatically knew someone had broken into my house," said burglary
victim Christopher Wiggins.
Wiggins had to replace his
entire door after someone threw a rock through the window and forced
their way in.
"I came in about 4:30 from work. I actually was talking to my mom on
the phone and said wow someone has broken into my house," said
Wiggins.
The burglary happened sometime
during the day. Once the burglars gained entry, they stole two brand
new laptops that were in the living room, and a digital camera from
the kitchen.
"I bought them both, they are both brand new," said Wiggins,
"Christmas presents."
This is not the first time
Wiggins home has been a target.
"This is the second time this has happened to me in the last two
years," he said.
The first time was back in 2010. The intruders came in while Wiggins was asleep.
He now has a plan to get his
belongings back, and to put whoever did this behind bars.
"I actually have $1,000 cash reward that I'm offering to bring these
people in, arrest and conviction," said Wiggins. "We will get you
the $1,000 cash reward or if I can just get my personal belongings
back."
Wiggins says he hopes this cash reward will convince someone to do
the right thing.
"If you would just bring my personal property back, maybe find it in
your heart to quit doing these things," said Wiggins. "People work
hard for what they got. I actually worked eleven hours yesterday to
come home to find someone had thrown a rock through my door."
Since Wiggins had just bought the laptops and digital camera, he still had their boxes and serial numbers.
The HP laptop's serial number is 5CB1462T8L.
The Toshiba laptop's serial number is 6B227278R.
The Canon camera's serial number is 4254B001[AA].
Wiggins also plans to contact several pawn shops to give them a heads up about his stolen property.
