Harold Boyd Duff - age 87 of Lenoir City passed away Thursday morning, November 10, 2022 at his home. Harold was a faithful and 70+ year member of the Good Shepherd United Methodist Church. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army Twenty Fifth Infantry Division and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He graduated from Roane County High School, Tennessee Wesleyan College, Middle Tennessee State University with BS and MA Degrees and the University of Tennessee with an Ed.S Degree. Harold was employed by the Lenoir City School System as a classroom teacher, principal of Nichols School, Supervisor of Instruction and Superintendent of Schools for a total of 36 years. He also worked for the Loudon County School System for 5 years and part time with the Loudon County Juvenile Center for 14 years.

Harold served as a member of the Loudon County Commission for a total of 28 years. He also was a member of the Lenoir City Committee of 100 for 50+ years, the Loudon County Chamber of Commerce, the Little Tennessee Valley Educational Cooperative, Loudon County Visitors Bureau, received the Distinguished Service Award from the State of Tennessee Department of Education, was a Colonel, Aide de Camp, on Governor’s Sunquist and Alexander’s Staff.

Preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Delores Littleton Duff; daughter, Melody Jayne Duff Kavanagh; son-in-law, Dr. Kevin Collins; parents, Boyd and Margaret Duff; brother, Larry Duff; sister and brother-in-law, and Patsy and Gene Hughes; father-in-law and mother-in-law Clarence and Helen Littleton; sister-in-law, Clarius Smith.

Survived by his daughter, Candace Collins; son, Lance Duff and wife, Brandy; grandchildren: Jordan Parkerson, Lauren Parkerson, Carter Duff, Erin Duff and Katherine Duff; sister-in-law, Jean Duff, ; nieces and nephews: Keith Wilkerson, Tammy Hattley (Rick), Lisa Morrison (Joe), Julie Duff, Gwen Hughes, Kevin Hughes (Chris), and Chasey Hachmann (Dennis) and many other family members.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, November 12th at Central United Methodist Church in Lenoir City. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. with Pastor John Brewster and Rev. Keith Wilkerson officiating. Family and friends will gather at the funeral home by 1:30 p.m. on Sunday and proceed to Loudon Co. Memorial Gardens for graveside services at 2 p.m. Military honors will be conducted by the Loudon Co. Veterans Honor Guard.
