Local man facing multiple drug charges

A Lenoir City man is facing multiple drug charges after law enforcement saw him tampering with an ATM.

Lenoir City Police Officer Bobby Hamilton on Thursday approached a man later identified as Chancey Ray Green, 37, after he appeared to be trying to gain access to an ATM at a Regions Bank. Hamilton learned Green had warrants out of General Sessions Court and arrested him.

“When I placed the defendant under arrest for the warrant, he did have in his left hand one and a half round white pills identified as subutex 8 mg Schedule III narcotic and five round blue pills identified as clonazepam 1 mg Schedule IV narcotic,” Hamilton wrote in a report.

Hamilton also found a small plastic bag in Green’s watch pocket that contained .5 grams of methamphetamine. Green admitted the drugs were his.
