Local man faces domestic assault charge
 
A Lenoir City man is facing an assault charge after law enforcement responded Thursday to a domestic violence call.
 
Dispatched to Jackson Bend Road of a possible domestic incident with “screaming and hollering” according to neighbors who called 911, Loudon County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Brad Rayfield talked with Ricky Glenn Powell, 41, who walking around the house.
 
Powell’s forehead was bleeding, and he would not comply with Rayfield’s commands at first. After emergency medical services were called, Powell was placed in the back of Rayfield’s patrol car so he could locate the female victim. She told Rayfield that Powell woke her up because he wanted to have sex.
 
“(The woman) advised that she refused and that then Ricky told her she was going to give him money,” Rayfield wrote his in report.
 
“(The woman) then ran away from Ricky outside and that’s when she said (he) pulled her by the hair of her head, ‘dragging’ her back toward the house.”
 
The woman said she went to the basement to get away from Powell and picked up “whatever” she could to hit him in the forehead.
Powell was charged with domestic assault-misdemeanor and held on $2,000 bond.

July 31

• Pedro Francisco-Merdi Cano, 50, Sweetwater, was charged with driving on a revoked/suspended license and released on $1,000 bond.
 
• Christopher Curtis Fritts, 34, Lenoir City, was charged with domestic assault-misdemeanor, two counts of vandalism and possession of drug paraphernalia and held on $7,500 bond. Loudon Police Officer Kent Russell responded to a possible domestic dispute at the 800 block of Queener Road. Fritts was gone when Russell arrived. “The caller ... stated that Mr. Chris Fritts, came to her parents' house and pushed his way in the door and shoved her out of the way,” Russell wrote in his report. “Mr. Fritts then threatened to kill everyone in the house including her father ... (and) brother.” Fritts left behind a black tool box and two cloth bags with hypodermic needles, plastic bags and three sets of digital scales, according to the report.
 
• Michael Eugene Russell, 66, Loudon, was charged with a Monroe County warrant and released without bond.
 
• Amber Nichole Stanley, 29, Loudon, was charged with driving on a revoked/suspended license and released on $1,000 bond.
 
• Ian Michael Thomas, 22, Lenoir City, was charged with driving under the influence and held without bond.

Aug. 1

• Chase Alexander Collins, 23, Lenoir City, was charged with domestic assault-felony and released on $15,000 bond.
 
• Tifani Tishon Curtis, 21, Knoxville, was charged with failure to appear-general sessions and released on $2,000 bond.
 
• John Henry Dixon, 52, Forsyth, Ga., was charged with driving while intoxicated and held on $4,500 bond.
 
• Adam Decker Hicks, 36, Loudon, was charged with driving on a revoked/suspended license and possession of drug paraphernalia and released on $2,000 bond.
 
• Merridith Chase Hicks, 50, Lenoir City, was charged with simple possession/casual exchange and released on $2,000 bond.
 
• Emily Jaynes, 34, Knoxville, was charged with violation of probation and held on $1,000 bond.
 
• Amber Michelle Kinton, 23, Seymour, was charged with failure to appear-general sessions and released on $4,000 bond.
 
• Kayla Marie McCraw, 20, Lenoir City, was charged with violation of probation and theft of property and released on $6,000 bond.
 
• Michele Lynn Rich, 27, Philadelphia, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and released on $1,000 bond.
 
• William Wade Sloan, 41, Sweetwater, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and released on $2,000 bond.
 
• Jerry Wayne Studdie, 50, Black Rock, Ark., was charged with reckless driving and released on $1,000 bond. Observing a dark gray Dodge truck that matched a description of a reckless driver on Interstate 40, LCSO Sgt. Jerramie Bowen noticed the vehicle entered Interstate 75 south at mile marker 81. “Mr. Studdie was traveling over 100 mph and was changing lanes while flashing his lights at cars in front of him,” Bowen wrote in his report. Bowen eventually made a traffic stop at exit 72, where he found Studdie with a smell of alcohol.
 
• Cole Brandon Wininger, 32, Loudon, was charged with violation of probation and released on $2,000 bond.

Aug. 2

• Gabriel Jerome Greeson, 40, Loudon, was charged with public intoxication, harassment (non-verbal threat), disorderly conduct and vandalism and released on $4,000 bond.
 
• April Tiffany Jenkins, 38, Madisonville, was charged with violation of probation and released on $2,000 bond.
 
• Michael Paul Marshall, 37, Greenback, was charged with aggravated assault and assisting other agency and held on $1,000 bond.
 
• Elizabeth Ann Romaella, 48, Lenoir City, was charged with violation of probation and released on $1,000 bond.
 
• Daniel Tyler Stewart, 27, Cleveland, was charged with two counts of violation of probation and held on $4,000 bond.
 
• Clifton Earl White, 32, Lenoir City, was charged with theft of property and released on $5,000 bond.

• Samantha Colleen Delk, 24, Lenoir City, was charged with simple possession/casual exchange and possession of drug paraphernalia and released on $2,000 bond.
 
• Dennis Ira Finchum, 38, Loudon, was charged with public intoxication and held on $1,000 bond.
 
• Michael C. Kinser, 51, Loudon, was charged with driving under the influence and possession of a handgun while under the influence and released on $2,500 bond.
 
• Matthew Carl Marsh, 33, Loudon, was charged with a juvenile attachment and released on $331 bond.
 
• Bradley Taylor Myers, 21, Madisonville, was charged with public intoxication and released on $390 bond.
 
• Michael Paul Shubert, 35, Loudon, was charged with two counts of contempt of court and held on $536 bond.
 
• Robert Merrell Taylor, 50, Clinton, was charged with driving on a revoked/suspended license and driving under the influence and held on $5,000 bond.

Aug. 4

• Victoria A. Duncan, 21, Lenoir City, was charged with failure to appear and released without bond.
 
• Garrett Maxwell Depp, 23, Maplewood, Minn., was charged with violation of probation and held without bond.
 
• Adam Charles McMahan, 44, homeless, was charged with public intoxication and simple possession/casual exchange and released on $2,000 bond.
 
• James Gary Norman, 41, Loudon, was charged with domestic assault-misdemeanor and held without bond.
 
• Brandon Lee Parker, 38, Kingsport, was charged with contempt of court and held on $500 bond.
 
• Gregory Scott Peak, 38, Sweetwater, was charged with public intoxication and released on $1,000 bond. Responding to a call at a convenience store on Pond Creek Road, LCSO Deputy JC Schultz talked with Peak, who was hiding inside the store because he said a “white male wearing a bunny mask and holding a purple Easter basket had pointed a rifle at him at an unknown address in McMinn County. Mr. Peak was obviously under the influence of a stimulant, sweating to the extent that all of his clothing was saturated, had pinpoint pupils, was very excited, agitated, paranoid and was displaying bruxism,” Schultz wrote in his report. “... Mr. Peak stated that the gun incident could have something to do with the methamphetamine he had used earlier.”
 
• Rudy Elias Stricker, 34, Lenoir City, was charged with failure to appear and released on $2,000 bond.

Aug. 5

• Andrew Lee Allen, 30, Central, S.C., was charged with driving under the influence and released on $4,500 bond. Observing a black Scion travel at a high rate of speed on U.S. Highway 321 near a local gas station and run a red light at the intersection, Lenoir City Sgt. Bobby Hamilton assisted Tennessee Highway Patrolman Paul Clendenen with a traffic stop. In his report, Hamilton noticed a “strong odor of marijuana” coming from Allen’s vehicle. Allen said he had smoked marijuana about an hour earlier. “The defendant did have very red eyes and appeared to be high,” Hamilton wrote in his report. Allen said he had marijuana in a duffel bag in his trunk, which according to Hamilton’s report had a pill bottle with 1.4 grams.
 
• Deborah Janeanne Chastain, 47, Lenoir City, was charged with driving under the influence and driving on a revoked/suspended license and held on $2,500 bond.
 
• Christopher Danie Hutchinson, 34, Knoxville, was charged with contempt of court and held without bond.
 
• Pamela Denise Matthews, 45, Chattanooga, was charged with violation of probation and held on $2,000 bond.
 
• Richard A. McDonald, 54, Loudon, was charged with driving on a revoked/suspended license and driving under the influence and released on $2,500 bond.

Aug. 6

• Malena Nanette Akin, 40, Sweetwater, was charged with two counts of simple possession of a Schedule IV substance, two counts of simple possession of a Schedule II substance and simple possession of a Schedule III substance and held on $5,000 bond.
 
• Jason Brandon Collett, 40, Kingston, was charged with aggravated criminal trespass and aggravated burglary and held on $60,000 bond.
 
• Michael Shane Guinn, 39, Knoxville, was charged with violation of probation and held on $1,000 bond.
 
• Daniel Palacios, 20, Philadelphia, was charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor and underage consumption and released on $2,000 bond.
 
• Courtney Keith Schuble, 27, Canton, Ga., was charged with possession of a handgun while under the influence and driving under the influence and released on $7,500 bond.

Aug. 7

• Joshua Eldon Giles, 31, Loudon, was charged with violation of probation and released on $1,000 bond.
