Below is the public notice to begin the process for Lenoir City officials to increase sales tax by three quarter of a cent. The council will vote to add it to the November election ballot and it will be billed as "For The Children."
Lenoir City Board of Education and Lenoir City Council, The Lenoir City Board of Education and the Lenoir City Council will hold a special-called Joint Workshop at Lenoir City Hall on Tuesday, June26, 2018 at 5:30 P.M.
The item to be included on the agenda for discussion is as follows:
•Discussion regarding potential referendum/question posed to the voters of Lenoir City about increasing local sales tax by three-quarters of one percent (¾%) for the purpose of increased and improved security at Lenoir City Schools for the safety of students, faculty, and staff.
