LCUB wins competition for best tasting water

ALCOA (WATE) - Lenoir City Utilities Board has the best tasting water in the region, according to the Tennessee Association of Utility Districts.

The TAUD announced the award  for Region 2 on Tuesday, following a competition held earlier in the month.

Region 2 consists of several counties, including Blount, Cocke, Grainger, Hamblen, Jefferson, Knox, Loudon, and Sevier Counties.

Several area utility boards submitted water samples, those samples were then judged based on taste, odor, and clarity at a testing at the Alcoa Service Center.

LCUB will now be entered against Tennessee's other 10 regions in a statewide competition. The statewide winner will then compete for the Best Tasting Water in America.

This is the second year in a row that LCUB has won the Region 2 competition.
