Land Ho? No?
| Back in May, the Loudon County school board voted to buy a forty
acre parcel of land off Shaw Ferry Road. The property has no road
frontage, no sewer service, no adequate water service and has a TVA
electric line over a portion of the property yet the board approved up
to $400,000.00 to buy the property. In a change of position, the board voted at their last meeting not to buy the property at this time. This time only four members voted to buy the property. Out going board member, Jeremy Buckles, newly re-elected members Dr. Professor Ubben and Greenback's Phil Moffit and Dr. Music Best. The rest of the board did not support the purchase. So at least for now, no more worthless land for the school board. |
